STOCKTON - Justin Giovannoni is sure he’ll be hit with nostalgia later, when the Pacific baseball team’s season is finished and reality sets in.
On Saturday, though, Giovannoni was on a mission and he delivered. The senior pitcher did all he could for the Tigers in a 12-4 loss to Santa Clara at Klein Family Field.
Giovannoni stepped in for starter Ricky Reynoso in the second inning and gave up just three hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out four in 4 1/3 innings.
“For Justin to come in and eat four and a third for us, that’s big because at least we have plenty of pitching for tomorrow now,” Pacific coach Ryan Garko said.
