STOCKTON – It began with a plan four years ago.
Though his team hadn’t reached the postseason for several years, Stanislaus State baseball coach Kenny Leonesio initiated a blueprint that he knew likely wouldn’t pay dividends for at least a few more years.
“We wanted to bring in some younger guys, little bit of a mix, and build to get to this point,” Leonesio said.
The Warriors finally have reached that point. With 14 seniors, including St. Mary’s graduate Charlie Gaff and East Union product Jordan Kron, Stanislaus State is in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Championships for the first time since 2008.
