SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Senior forward Anthony Townes was named the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week following two stellar performances that helped the Tigers to a 2-0 finish, with wins over Long Beach State (74-68) and Cal State Northridge (79-77).
Townes was key in Pacific's perfect weekend and claiming its ninth victory on the season, as he averaged 19 points with 70.6 percent shooting from the field and 93.3 percent shooting from the free throw line. In addition, he averaged 7.5 rebounds.
Against Long Beach State on Monday night, Townes was one of three players to score in double-figures as he totaled 14 on the night.
