Pacific women's basketball's recently departed senior, Ameela Li, has moved onto the next stages of her life, but the chances for her to continue to earn recognition for her time at Pacific aren't over yet.
Li was announced as a nominee for the NCAA's Woman of the Year Award which honors players for their academic achievements, athletic excellence, community service and leadership. Only graduating female athletes are eligible for the honor. Li is being considered alongside 580 of her peers from all three divisions of the NCAA.
Eligible female student-athletes are nominated by their member school. Each conference office then reviews the nominations from its core member schools (and sponsored sports) and submits its conference nominee(s) to the NCAA.
