STOCKTON – BYU made a final three pointer which didn’t matter at all, and Pacific guard GeAnna Luaulu-Summers dribbled toward midcourt, waited for the final buzzer and happily threw the ball in the air.
The game was over, and the upset bid was successfully completed.
Luaulu-Summers had a double-double, Ameela Li scored 16 of her career-high 24 points in the first half and the Tigers played ferocious defense to stun BYU 83-76 on Saturday afternoon at Spanos Center. Two days after a disappointing loss to San Francisco on the same court, Pacific knocked off one of the better teams in the West Coast Conference with a sterling effort.
