Chris Cash admits he’s different.
That’s how he’s always wanted to be.
As an incoming high school freshman, Cash developed a blueprint for his life in which he vowed to reject the gang life prevalent in the Stockton neighborhood where he grew up, the type of life that put two of his brothers in prison and possibly contributed to the death of one of his sisters in Oakland.
Cash said he channeled his energy into academics and football. He became a standout athlete at Franklin High and went on to play defensive back at the University of Southern California and five seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons.
