#18/19 Saint Mary's escapes Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. - No. 18/19 Saint Mary's withstood a furious second-half charge by Pacific to hold on for a 74-70 win Thursday evening in West Coast Conference (WCC) action.

The Gaels win for only the fifth time in their last 17 trips into the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Saint Mary's (20-2, 10-1 WCC) tallied the first seven points 2:03 into the second period and led 48-34.

A D.J. Ursery old-fashioned 3-point play cut the Tigers' deficit to single digits at 60-51. A Wallace trey trimmed it to five at 60-55.

A Tonko Vuko offensive rebound and putback cut Pacific's deficit to one possession, 62-59, at the 5:12 mark.
