LEWISTON -- Fall camp for the Washington State Cougars opened moments ago and one face expected to be in the middle of the wide-open placekicking competition isn't around. Nor will he be -- though that doesn't necessarily mean he's permanently out of the picture.
Two independent sources have told CF.C that Quentin Breshears, who started 10 games last season, will not be at fall camp. He may wind up rejoining the team later -- or he may not. Both sources said WSU's coaching staff wants to give long looks at the host of other kicking contenders -- all but one of them a fresh face -- and they already know what they have in Breshears (pictured above at the spring game).
