A week ago, Oregon's football season seemed hopeless.
Coach Mark Helfrich was possibly facing his final two games as head coach with the Ducks. The defense was abysmal. The off-the-field issues were mounting. The fans were reconsidering whether or not there was any reason to renew season tickets in 2017.
And then wide receiver Darren Carrington caught a pass that gave the Ducks an unexpected win over Utah when none of it seemed possible.
That catch left the Ducks with a Salt Lake City mountain-top high that has clashed with the reality of what 2016 has actually been for Oregon: a series of underwhelming and disappointing moments.
