STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford is headed back to the Pac-12 championship game. The Cardinal bounced back from their heartbreaking loss against Oregon to beat California 35-22, sealing their third Pac-12 North title in four seasons. Stanford has now beaten their bitter rivals from across San Francisco Bay six straight times.
This may be starting to sound like a broken record, but running back Christian McCaffrey was spectacular again, amassing 389 all-purpose yards in the victory to break Glyn Milburn's single-game school record -- set 25 years ago against Cal. There was actually a point in the third quarter when the Golden Bears were doubling up the Cardinal's yardage total, but Stanford never trailed thanks in large part to McCaffrey's sizzling production, which included a long touchdown on a kick return.
