No ordinary offensive tackle, UCLA's Conor McDermott has an extraordinary responsibility

Conor McDermott will turn 24 this October, and in a lot of ways, his football career is just beginning to take shape.

A year ago, he played his first full season at UCLA and contemplated making himself available for the NFL draft after the season. But he has unfinished business in Westwood and returns for his senior season to protect the blind side of one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the college game, Josh Rosen. He'll also serve as a reminder that the most promising offensive tackle prospects can come in all sorts of packages.
