LOS ANGELES -- In the week leading up to UCLA's season-opener against Texas A&M, Bruins coach Jim Mora spoke glowingly of former offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, who almost eight months earlier left for the same position in College Station. They were still close friends, Mora said, and he had nothing but praise for Mazzone as a football coach.
“There's a reason that offensively when he was here for four years we broke every single UCLA offensive record,” Mora said. “That wasn't just a coincidence. It was the players, certainly, but it was Noel and the rest of the staff and their system.
