USC sophomore receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster's first memory of teammate Cameron Smith isn’t one he’s particularly fond of.
During Smith-Schuster’s senior year at Long Beach Poly High, a Southern California football power, the Jackrabbits qualified for the Division I state bowl game, where they lost to Smith’s team, Granite Bay, 21-20. The true freshman linebacker hasn’t let him forget.
“Every day I see him, it’s, ‘Yeah, we beat Poly, we beat Poly,’” Smith-Schuster said.
But after Smith’s three-interception performance in USC’s 42-24 win against then-No. 3 Utah on Saturday, the receiver didn’t seem to mind.
