Devon Allen finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdle finals in Rio on Tuesday evening, and though it was short of what he had hoped to accomplish, the Oregon wide receiver/Olympic hurdler felt pretty OK with his results in his first-ever international competition.
"A good experience, a solid race," Allen told The Oregonian's Ken Goe. "Obviously I want to compete and win. But fifth in the world isn't bad at all."
The race wasn't as clean as what Allen typically runs. He didn't have a great start but made up for it (even with hitting a few hurdles) and looked like he could make a move when coming off the final hurdle.
