We're adopting a nickname for USC's Cody Kessler here at the Pac-12 blog: the Bakersfield Bandit.

Writer R.J. Abeytia provided the first documented use of that moniker here, but it seems especially fitting now after Grantland's Michael Weinreb profiled Kessler with strong focus on the quarterback's Bakersfield, California, roots.
