Byron Murphy, a 4-star cornerback out of Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, announced his commitment to play college football for Washingtonon Thursday, per Blair Angulo of Rivals.com.
The 247Sports composite rankings rate Murphy as the 11th-best cornerback prospect in the 2016 class. Per Scout.com's Jason Jewell, Murphy had more than 1,000 yards receiving as a senior and could play both ways for the Huskies during his college career.
What may make Murphy's transition to the college game difficult on defense is his slight build. He is listed by 247Sports at 5'11" and only 160 pounds.
