After beating Utah, all is not lost for USC

LOS ANGELES -- As Utah coach Kyle Whittingham fielded questions following the third-ranked Utes’ 42-24 loss at USC on Saturday, nothing about his demeanor, nor anything he said, indicated he was really all that surprised to see his team’s unbeaten run come to an end.

Rankings and records aside, what transpired confirmed what Whittingham said in the days leading up to the game: USC is the most talented team in the Pac-12.

"Obviously we're disappointed to lose the game,” Whittingham said. “In my opinion, that's the best team we've played all year long -- certainly from a personnel standpoint.
