Bobby Ryan would like nothing better than to see his new linemate Zack Smith once again put up big offensive numbers.
With one big difference, that is.
“He has proven he can score 25 goals,” Ryan said Monday, smiling widely as he looked in Smith’s direction. “Now, I would rather him get 25 (assists) — ‘Smitty, can you get 30 assists for me this year’ — and he gives us a different look.”
The “us” would be the Ryan-Derick Brassard tandem, which is pretty much untouchable in the eyes of head coach Guy Boucher.
