Wideman Dealt to Oilers

After a slow start to the 2018-2019 season, the Ottawa Senators have elected to move on from defenceman Chris Wideman.

The Senators have traded Wideman to the Edmonton Oilers for a sixth-round draft choice in 2020. Edmonton acquired the pick from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenceman Jakub Jerabek in October.

Selected by Ottawa in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Chris Wideman spent nine years in the Senators organization. He suited up in 175 NHL games for the club, tallying 16 goals and 27 assists.
