The Ottawa Senators have kicked off trade deadline day early, sending Vladislav Namestnikov to the Colorado Avalanche. In return, they’ll receive a 4th round pick in the 2021 NHL draft.
Namestnikov, a pending unrestricted free agent, was acquired by the Sens from the New York Rangers at the beginning of the season when they ran into some injury trouble. The price was a 4th round pick in 2020 and 25-year-old AHLer Nick Ebert, and save for the depth piece, their flipped asset fetched the exact same return.
Playing consistent bottom-six minutes, Namestnikov put up 25 points in 54 games in a Sens uniform while also having a positive impact defensively.
