Sad news from around the league, as Dale Hawerchuk passed away at the age of 57 from stomach cancer. The Hall-of-Famer played 16 seasons in the NHL, and most recently coached the Barrie Colts for 9 seasons before taking a leave of absence after his initial diagnosis last summer. Our condolences to Hawerchuk’s family and friends.
Prospect Lassi Thomson has been loaned back to Ilves. With the AHL return to play being still more of a target than a plan, this isn’t a big surprise.
