Mark Stone began his week on top of the world, arriving home from Russia with a world championship gold medal around his neck.
Now, the Ottawa Senators’ top right winger is hoping to finish his week off with an invitation to Canada’s World Cup roster in September.
“I wanted to prove some things to people and I think I did that,” said Stone, who ended up tied for eighth in scoring at the tournament, with four goals and six assists in 10 games.
“But I know how tough it is for (Canadian GM Doug Armstrong) to make decisions.
