A little exercise in self-reflection
It's getting to be that time of year when I start to ask myself why I cheer for the Ottawa Senators. The Sens currently sit six points behind the Penguins, having played three more games and without the tiebreaker. If you think the Sens need 97 points to make the playoffs (last year the cutoff was 98), the Sens need 27 points in their final 13 games. In other words, it's impossible. Their only hope is for the five teams ahead of them to fade down the stretch.
Last night, I watched the Sens collapse against the Panthers, a good-but-not-great team.
