The clock is ticking on the Senators proposal to build new rinks in Gatineau -- one of which would house the QMJHL's Olympiques.
"The city is kind of driving the timing," Senators president Cyril Leeder said Tuesday. "It's their program, their process. We'll respond as quickly as needed to meet the city's requirements. The real deadline is September 2018 when the (Robert) Guertin will no longer be in existence and the Olympiques will need a new facility to play hockey in. We have some time, but don't have a lot of extra time at this point."
The Senators plan is to build a complex that would effectively replace some of the "aging" rinks in Gatineau.
