The Senators could be without top winger Mark Stone Tuesday night.
The NHL's department of player safety confirmed Sunday night Stone will have a telephone hearing Monday morning with league disciplinarian Stephane Quintal to determine whether he'll be suspended for his check to the head of Detroit Red Wings winger Landon Ferraro Saturday night.
There was no rush to hold a hearing Sunday because of the club's two-day break in the schedule but losing the high-scoring winger for any length of time wouldn't make it any easier for the club to get out of the doldrums.
Stone admitted to the Ottawa Sun it was a bad a reaction because he felt Ferraro was going to get around him.
