And, the Senators lost one of their No. 1 fans.
The loss of former CTV Ottawa anchor/philanthropist Max Keeping touched every part of the city. The Senators were among those Friday who voiced how much his contribution will be missed after his untimely death at the age of 73 Thursday.
The Senators will honour Keeping with a moment of silence Saturday night before they face the Montreal Canadiens at the Canadian Tire Centre and they're planning another memorial for next Sunday's home opener.
"He really was our biggest fan," said Senators president Cyril Leeder Friday.
