The ball is in Erik Condra's court.
The Senators have opened the door for the UFA to return next season by tabling an offer on a new contract Monday and now he has to decide if he wants to accept the deal to stay in Ottawa or test his worth on the market when free agency opens Wednesday at noon.
The 28-year-old has played his whole career with the Senators, but he attracted some attention from other teams when the talking period opened and the plan was for Condra to speak with a Rochester-based agent in the next 24 hours to give Ottawa GM Bryan Murray and assistant Pierre Dorion an answer Tuesday.
