Guy Boucher deserves to be mentioned more frequently in Jack Adams Award conversations.
The Senators coach is doing as good a job as any in the league.
Just two nights after they had strayed from Boucher’s plan and produced a defensive dud against the Florida Panthers, the Senators were once again air-tight solid as they took on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Through two periods, they had allowed just 14 shots on goal and, had a couple of their own attempts gone post-in instead of post-out, they would have held a commanding lead against a team that is desperately trying to cling to its playoff hopes.
