FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Senators did make changes Saturday but it had nothing do with a trade.
Instead, they decided to move some of the furniture around.
Coming off a 3-0 loss in Raleigh, N.C., the Senators sent forwards Max McCormick and Casey Bailey back to their AHL affiliate in Binghamton and called up Phil Varone and Michael Blunden instead.
While it’s a good opportunity for Blunden and Varone to show what they can do in the NHL, it doesn’t bode well for the possibility of the return of wingers Mark Stone (neck) and Mike Hoffman (groin) Sunday against Florida.
