Senators stay out of free-agent frenzy [Video]

As NHL free agency got under way Friday at noon, the Senators didn’t make a splash.

Instead, they pretty much stuck with the status quo.

The Senators brought back minor-league forwards Casey Bailey and Phil Varone along with defenceman Michael Kostka when the market first opened.

Varone and Bailey were acquired in a deal with the Buffalo Sabres last season and spent the year with the club’s AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Kostka, 30, played 15 games with the Senators last season and he has a chance to be the seventh defenceman the club has been seeking.
