When the Senators sent Thomas Chabot back to the Saint John Sea Dogs in November, he was not really disappointed.
He knew the demotion was coming. He knew that as a teenager who had dressed for just one of their first nine games, it was only a matter of time.
He also knew he had some unfinished business to tend to at the junior level. First and foremost, he wanted to right the wrong of last year’s world junior championship, when he and the rest of the Canadians finished a disappointing sixth in Finland.
When the Senators sent Chabot back to the Ice Dogs, they knew he would dominate in the QMJHL.
