It’s only appropriate against the Minnesota Wild, the Senators kept their slim wild-card hopes alive on Tuesday night.
Thanks to some last-minute heroics from Mika Zibanejad to tie it up along with the winner from captain Erik Karlsson, the Senators are still breathing this morning after they scored a 3-2 overtime victory over the Wild in front of a sellout crowd of 18,966 at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Karlsson fired a blast from the slot with 30.4 seconds left in OT to give the Senators a much-needed two points. Mike Hoffman was the only other Ottawa player to beat Devan Dubnyk, while Ryan Carter and Nino Niederreiter did the scoring for the Wild.
