The Ottawa Senators have re-signed defenceman Cody Goloubef to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal is worth $700K at the NHL level, and $425K in Belleville.
Acquired from the Boston Bruins for Paul Carey on January 11th, the Canadian Olympic Bronze Medalist only suited up for five games in Ottawa this season, but turned in a solid AHL performance. Goloubef tallied 12 points, and a +15 rating in 30 games with the B-Sens, helping them on their improbable run that fell just short of a playoff appearance.
The deal provides Ottawa with some much-needed depth, as right-shot defenceman are few and far between in the organization.
