NEW YORK — Big Game Brass is actually Big Game 6 Brass.
Heading into Tuesday’s tilt at Madison Square Garden, Senator centre Derick Brassard had played in seven Game 6s and scored 11 points (five goals, six assists).
He’d been especially prolific with seven points in his last three Game 6s.
The only previous Game 6 Brassard played with the Senators, he had two assists in a 3-2 win over the Bruins in Round 1. He was wearing the New York crest for the others.
It looked like Brassard was going to help the Blueshirts cause again in Tuesday’s Game 6, when he swung his stick into his friend Mats Zuccarello’s face, drawing blood and a double minor at 8:35 of the first.
