Mark Stone made the trip home, but only to play the role of spectator at the MTS Centre on Monday night.
His return to the Senators will have to wait.
Recovering from a concussion he suffered in a collision on the first day of camp, the 24-year-old Stone skated with his teammates at the Canadian Tire Centre wearing a tinted visor and, if all goes well during a baseline test Thursday, he could suit up against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday at home.
And, if not, then Stone expects to be ready in time for the season-opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct.
