Already mature for his age, Curtis Lazar has returned to his hometown away from hometown with a new sense of independence.
The Senators winger arrived for a week's visit in Ottawa on Sunday as the proprietor of his own house: a three-bedroom, three-bathroom starter just outside the hustle and bustle of Kelowna, B.C.
The purchase is clearly a proud one for a guy who was still a teenager as recently as last February.
"I looked at a place on Saturday and my parents looked at it on Sunday, and Sunday night put in the offer and a couple of hours later it was sold," Lazar said during a workout at Canadian Tire Centre Tuesday morning.
