Senators knock off mighty Penguins

This time around, the Ottawa Senators buckled only slightly when pressed by the powerhouse Pittsburgh Penguins.

They didn’t break, en route to an impressive 4-1 victory.

The Senators delivered a strong first period, showcased outstanding special teams and received timely goaltending from ex-Penguin Mike Condon.

“We’re confident that when we’re playing our best, we can play with anybody,” said Bobby Ryan, who opened the scoring and was dangerous for much of the night.

The Senators also received goals from Mike Hoffman, Tom Pyatt and Mark Stone. Erik Karlsson and Derick Brassard each had two assists.
