When Daniel Alfredsson was vilified for uttering his now infamous "probably not" after being asked if the Senators could bounce back from a 3-1 deficit against the Pittsburgh Penguins in their last playoff series, he was only being honest.
So was the new captain, Erik Karlsson, when posed with the same query late Sunday night.
"Oh definitely," Karlsson said, raising some eyebrows. "Nothing is lost yet. We've got to play again on Wednesday, and we still feel good about ourselves. We've just got to keep going and take it one game at a time."
It's a longshot, yes, but the Senators have defied the odds before.
