With Bryan Murray’s former team in town — the Washington Capitals — the Senators made the legendary general manager and coach the first member of the newly formed Ring of Honour at the rink.
The 74-year-old Murray, who took the club to the 2007 Stanley Cup final when he was behind the club’s bench, started his NHL coaching career with the Capitals in 1981 and has spent his lifetime in hockey.
The Shawville, Que., native received a monument from the club along with a trip to Ireland.
