The Senators won’t be seeing The Hamburglar anytime soon.
Senators goaltender Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond could be out for months after he suffered a high ankle sprain Sunday against the New York Islanders.
While Hammond will be gone at least a month with the ailment, high ankle sprains are unpredictable and it could be more. He left the game in the first period Sunday but did dress as the backup for the final two periods.
“It happens in careers where you’re unlucky and things happen to you,” said coach Guy Boucher Thursday. “I don’t think there’s any particular reason why it’s happening.
