Senators GM Pierre Dorion looking for Mr. Right Coach

OTTAWA - Pierre Dorion has made his list and he’s checking it twice.

The goal: To find the right man to take the Senators back to respectability and to the post-season next spring.

After making the playoffs last spring, the fall was fast and sharp for the Senators last season. Owner Eugene Melnyk promised there would be “key changes” and it didn’t take long for those to start to happen with GM Bryan Murray handing the reins over to the 43-year-old Dorion the day after the season.

It didn’t stop there, either.

Only three days on the job, Dorion didn’t waste any time sending coach Dave Cameron, along with assistants Andre Tourigny and Rick Wamsley, packing.
