Senators GM Pierre Dorion in spotlight as off-season begins

The final buzzer has sounded on the 2015-16 NHL campaign and now the off-season officially begins.

While Senators GM Pierre Dorion got a big job off his plate by hiring coach Guy Boucher and associate coach Marc Crawford last month, the next three weeks will be pivotal for the Senators — and all 30 NHL GMs for that matter — with expansion, the NHL draft, qualifying offers and free agency on the horizon.

Dorion likely hasn’t had much time to breathe since he took over the GM’s role from Bryan Murray the day after the season ended on April 10, but this is the time of year where league executives feel a sense of urgency to shape their rosters for training camp in September.
