Pierre Dorion’s four-leaf clover is a four-fingered (and one thumb) holder that does have a grass stain or two.
His good luck charm is a dirty white golf glove given to him many years ago by his dad.
Golf was a bond in the close relationship between the Senators GM and Pierre Dorion Sr., a well-respected hockey man who passed away in 1994, and the glove is a reminder of the love they shared.
But Dorion doesn’t draw on its powers very often.
He did, however, have the glove in his pocket at the 2008 NHL draft in Ottawa, the day he urged then-GM Bryan Murray to trade the 18th-pick overall and a third-round selection in 2009 to the Nashville Predators, for the 15th choice.
