PHILADELPHIA - The Senators wouldn’t have been just satisfied with making the playoffs this spring.
They would have been determined to go deep but they won’t get that chance and GM Bryan Murray said Friday the club’s goal is to bring a title to town — not just make the post-season.
“We’re looking to win the Stanley Cup. Let me assure you, making the playoffs is not good enough,” said Murray. “This was another step. That’s what we were talking about. Last year, we came down to the deadline to make the playoffs.
“This year, we thought we’d take that step and then the growth of a couple of our young guys would make a difference.
