All things considered, the Senators returned east in pretty good shape Tuesday afternoon.
The updated “day-to-day” status of sniper Mike Hoffman was positive, given that a “week to week” or a “long term” was easy to imagine after watching him fly at high speed into the goal post the night before in San Jose. Losing Hoffman for any significant length of time — whether it be with a concussion or the third broken collarbone of his pro career — would have been a blow.
There was no word on Marc Methot, but the fact he made it to the warmup of Monday’s game against the Sharks before saying uncle with a “lower body” injury suggests it is not serious.
