Doesn’t sound like Bruce Boudreau will be a sitting duck for long.
The Senators have added the 61-year-old coach, fired by the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, to their list of candidates by officially getting permission to speak to Boudreau about their head coaching vacancy — as Postmedia reported first on Tuesday. But suddenly there’s competition because Ottawa is no longer the only team looking for a coach.
The word is Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher, who hasn’t committed to interim coach John Torchetti, travelled to Anaheim on Tuesday to meet with Boudreau to see if he’d be the right fit.
