Mark Borowiecki was happy to see his teammates respond physically Wednesday night in Washington in the wake of winger Tom Wilson's hit on Curtis Lazar.
The Senators' defenceman believes that has to be the case especially when an opposing player starts taking liberties with one of their teammates. Wilson caught Lazar with a blindside hit in the third and was given a match penalty. Winger Chris Neil stepped up after the hit.
"He's a big, physical guy, he plays his game, and he does what he does," said Borowiecki Thursday. "To be honest, I wasn't on the ice a ton, it's a situation where I probably would have done something.
