Dion Phaneuf will likely exercise his right to stay with the Ottawa Senators.
The 32-year-old Phaneuf isn't expected to waive his 'no move' clause to allow the Senators to make him available in this weekend's expansion draft.
That means GM Pierre Dorion is going to have to do some wheeling and dealing to try to keep his top four intact.
TSN's Bob McKenzie reported Tuesday morning Phaneuf doesn't want to waive so that means the Senators won't be able to protect Marc Methot.
Dorion can either make a side deal with Vegas GM George McPhee to not take Methot or deal him to another team before the draft.
