The Ottawa Senators have traded defenceman Christian Wolanin to the Los Angeles Kings, in exchange for forward Mike Amadio.
The move comes less than a week after the 26 year-old Wolanin was waived by the Senators, with the writing apparently on the wall that the team was electing to move on from him. The Quebec City native has posted three assists in 15 games this season, and five goals and 13 assists over his 58-game NHL career.
It is a disappointing conclusion to Wolanin’s tenure in Ottawa. Selected in the fourth round by the Senators in 2015, Wolanin was was expected to be a mainstay in the NHL lineup this season, but appeared to have fallen out of the coach’s favour.
