OTTAWA — When the Senators shook hands with the Montreal Canadiens at the Canadian Tire Centre on a Sunday night following a heartbreaking 4-2 series loss in Game 6 of the first round of last year's playoffs, both teams were hopeful that there were brighter days ahead.
Though Senators players were headed their separate ways for the summer as they packed their bags only a few days after that 2-0 to the Habs, they felt the sky was the limit. Next season, which now is nearly over, seemed so promising and the Senators weren't alone on that front.
